Air travellers often buy confectioneries or essential items from stores at airports. However, it was a matrimonial website’s store that greeted a woman at Chennai International Airport.

The woman posted on X, formerly Twitter, a photo of a store of Elite Matrimony, a matrimonial website catering to high net-worth individuals. She found it peculiar that the airport that “does not have a pharmacy or a convenience store” has got a matrimonial store.

At Elite Matrimony, packages start at Rs 1,50,000 and go all the way up to Rs 3,00,000.

They primarily cater to business-class customers. Another reason is that the presence of a brand in an airport helps expand its marketing reach due to lakhs of visitors passing through in a single day,” yet another user wrote.
